If you want to see your clips in the timeline, there are three options:Ī.In other words, wherever that green line is, that is where you will drop your clip This is used to help you place your clip. When dragging the clip into the Project Library screen, a green line will appear.Once the clip is the way you want it, place the mouse over the yellow box until it is a hand, and drag it towards the Project Library.While hovering the mouse arrow over either the left or right side of the box, you can select a side and drag it to your desired location.Use the right side of the box to dictate where the clip will end.Use the left side of the box to dictate where the clip will start.When selecting a clip, a yellow box appears.The red line (also known as the play head) will move as the clip continues to play (NOTE: the play head will automatically move from clip to clip)Ħ. ![]() Once the clip is highlighted, hit the spacebar to make it play.Select a clip from the "Event" half of your screen.On the top half of your window, you will see “Project Library.” This is where you’ll be creating your timeline, or movie. The files will be imported into your iMovie sessionĤ.Copying the files will take up more hard drive space, whereas moving the files will change the location of the clips Beneath that, select "Create New Event" and give your project a name.Below the area where the clips are highlighted, select where you'd like to save in the drop down menu next to "Save to".Find the folder that holds all of the clips you want to use.Choose "4:3" for a TV look or "16:9" for a cinematic look.In the drop down menu, select your aspect ratio.Give a title to your project to the right of "Project Name".On the left side of the window, select "Applications".
