These would be SO cute attached to a string as a garland (Hello, Valentine’s Day!) or as ornaments for Christmas time… or a Valentine’s tree. These are perfect for hot gluing on to just about any of your little girls things… hair clips, hats, belts, etc. Step Five // Now that you’ve got a tight knot around the middle and you’ve detached your pom pom from the ball of yarn, use your scissors and cut between all the loops of yarn and fan that pom pom out. Then you can cut the yarn that’s still attached to the ball of yarn. Slide the wrap off the fork and then pull the string tight and tie in a knot. Step Four // Tie off your pom pom, but don’t finish the knot yet. Step Three // Once you feel like you’ve wrapped sufficiently, take your extra piece of yarn and slide it through the middle tines to tie off. I’d recommend 60 for a nice full pom pom. For the kids, since it took them a few tries to get the hang of it, they were ready to stop after about 3o wraps. The more you wrap, the fuller and fluffier your little poms will be. Step Two // Begin wrapping the yarn around the tines of your fork. Step One // For this simple project, just cut a string of yarn a few inches long and place to the side, we’ll be using it in a little bit. The kids each crafted a couple of their own, that’s how easy they are to make, and so here’s another way you can use one of your kitchen utensils for something besides eating.
